Boston Marathon 2024 sẽ diễn ra vào thứ hai 15/4/2024 (20:00 giờ Việt Nam). Đây là giải chạy danh giá hàng đầu thế giới, nằm trong nhóm 6 giải marathon lớn và uy tín nhất hành tinh (World Six Major Marathons).

Năm nay, hai đương kim vô địch người Kenya là Evans Chebet (nam) và Hellen Obiri (nữ) đều xác nhận sẽ quay lại Boston Marathon 2024 để bảo vệ danh hiệu của mình.

Chebet đã vô địch 2 năm liên tiếp (2022-2023) và đang hướng đến chức vô địch thứ ba liên tiếp. Trong khi đó Obiri phấn đấu trở thành nữ VĐV đầu tiên bảo vệ thành công chức vô địch kể từ thời Catherine Ndereba (Kenya) năm 2005. 

John J. McDermott hiện được ghi nhận là nhà vô địch nam đầu tiên của Boston Marathon khi giải ra mắt năm 1897. Còn Roberta Gibb năm 1966 được ghi nhận là nữ VĐV đầu tiên chạy hết quãng đường 42,195km của Boston Marathon.
